In the words of one of my more sympathetic correspondents, it has turned out to be an&nbsp;<em>annus horribilis.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Annus horribilis<\/em>&nbsp;is a Latin phrase, meaning \u201chorrible year\u201d and being a major fan of the Series \u2013 The Crown, I wouldn\u2019t want to miss the opportunity of quoting her majesty \u2013 as I feel the same about 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2020 has been one hell of a horrible year for mankind. A virus has taught us how insignificant and ignorant we have been. Irrespective of the advances by the scientific community they have been a step behind the forces of Mother Nature. COVID-19 \u2013 A virus that put the world at a standstill: A scenario we never envisioned in our wildest dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But aren\u2019t we all glad this year is finally getting over and with the hope of getting ourselves vaccinated soon enough. YES!! Irrespective what the naysayers may say I am going to get myself vaccinated as soon as I can lay my hands \/ bum whichever way it\u2019s going to be administered on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before this year ends lets pray for the ones we have lost or whose life have been scarred by this deadly disease. Loss of family, friends, jobs and incomes wrecked all of us emotionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the flip side let us thank God for making us sail thru this year alive!! We will heal at our own pace, for that is the human spirit \u2013 To Fall, To Stumble and To Rise Again. We will be the living embodiment of the Pandemic tales that we shall regale our future generations with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lets us drown the unpleasant memories of 2020 in the festive spirits of our choice and usher in a promising 2021!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God Bless us all !!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Queen Elizabeth once said, \u201c1992 is not a year on which I shall look back with undiluted pleasure.
