Visit to the Castle
Guests can visit the family-owned Castle Mandawa for a glimpse into the region’s rich history and architecture. The 18th-century fort was built by Thakur Nawal Singh and once stood as an important trading outpost along the old caravan routes. With its frescoed walls, courtyards, and old-world charm, Castle Mandawa offers a beautiful way to experience the heritage and atmosphere of the town.
Experience the local markets
Take a trip to the local town market, where small shop owners offer a range of products, from beautiful brass items and colourful textiles to handicrafts and antique furniture. It is a lovely way to experience the everyday rhythm of Mandawa, with narrow lanes lined with traditional stores, local artisans, and family-run businesses. Guests can browse at leisure, discover unique pieces, and take home something that reflects the craft and character of the region.
Dinner on the Dunes
Guests also have the option of dining on the dunes, with the desert transformed into a beautiful evening setting using diyas, lanterns, bonfires, and traditional décor. The experience can include camel carts or buggies, local performers, puppeteers, craft displays, live counters, a four-course meal, and an open bar. It is a memorable way to enjoy dinner under the night sky, surrounded by the atmosphere of the desert.

A picnic at the oasis offers guests a quieter way to experience the desert, away from the bustle of the main celebrations. Set against the natural beauty of the surroundings, it can be arranged with comfortable seating, refreshments, and a relaxed spread to enjoy through the afternoon. Guests can enjoy an outdoor cookout with views of the rolling dunes. A curated menu can be arranged, with chefs preparing local Rajasthani dishes on-site and guests also having the option to take part in the cooking. It is a relaxed way to experience the local cuisine while spending time outdoors and watching the evening settle over the desert.

Set out on an exciting camel ride across the dunes. Alternatively, a camel cart ride can also be organized for you to experience the bylanes of Mandawa through a different perspective.
Puppet Show
Watch an enthralling performance of local puppet masters that skilfully narrate the folklore of Mandawa. We can also organise a brief workshop for our guests to learn the art of puppet-making, pottery and kite-making.
